Driving Lessons Resume on April 12th

It's official, the DVSA have finally announced the date driving lessons can resume, as long as the UK's Covid situation doesn't blow up in our faces.  April 12th is the chosen date: so good news for most; bad news for some.  This was supposed to be the date driving tests were to resume, however, that gave no time for learners to practise driving before their exam.  Even the DVSA, saw the gaping holes in this plan. Tests have been pushed back by a further 10 days. Common sense prevails, and all is well, or is it? Let me explain. If your test is booked for April 15th, that test is now cancelled. Your test will be re-booked, but as with high stokes poker, the odds aren't in your favour. Your new test date could be a Midsomer nightmare!

Booking your lessons after lockdown

If you're a current student with a driving school/instructor, now is the time to start booking your classes for April.  There is going to be a huge surge of people wanting to learn how to drive.   If it's anything like the tsunami of inquiries after lowdown 1, waiting lists will be on multiple sheets of A4 paper.  My own personal list has around 50 people on it already.

However, don't let this put you off  joining a waiting list.  I found that even though the lists are long, once a space opens up, we can get through the list quickly.  Those on the list are going to be looking for lessons elsewhere too.  They may have had a change of circumstances and driving lessons aren't a priority anymore.  People's finances will be affected by the past few months, and, perhaps they can't afford to continue.

Book now

So, if you're looking for classes ASAP, get on as many lists as possible.  If you're super keen and want to get started without an instructor, there are plenty of online driving tutorials you can view/read to help you get a head-start on your first lesson (or to review past classes if you're already a student).  We have free ones here on our website that cover all aspects of driving with diagrams, photos, and videos to make understanding the tutorials as clear as possible.

Feel free to fill in the 'contact us' form below if you'd like to reserve a place our waiting list.  With 5 instructors across the city, teaching both manual and automatic, plus dedicated intensive course specialists, you never know, we might be able to see you sooner than you think.

This blog post is the first of many online automatic driving lessons. We've had manual ones on the website for over ten years now and we're seeing a big transmission swing towards automatic classes as of late, so thought we'd start producing these for auto drivers.
