A-Class Driving School's Online Driving Tutorial - Brislington Test Centre - Leaving the test centre
Leaving the car park over at Brislington isn't as straight forward as you may think. Especially on test day when the nerves are kicking in. It's possible to fail the exam before even getting to the road. Exiting the test centre has proven troublesome for many students, sop don't take it for grated.
There are two things to remember here. Firstly, go slow enough so that you can get your car into a good position when emerging at the first set of give way lines . You'll want to make sure you look both ways here, the look to the left is vital and harder than the one to the right, which could easily pull focus.
Once you've emerged, again keeping slow move up to the end of the road and make sure you stop. This second set of give way lines is where I've seen first hand several learners fail on test. You can't see through the bushes to the right on approach here, so stop at the give way line and make sure you observe effectively. It's a surprisingly busy road with heavy vehicles rumbling up and down all day, it's an industrial site after all.
I've highlighted the first and second set of give way lines in the photo down to the right. The first set are with a small white pin, the second which is far more dangerous with a white circle. This image also shows what a dreadful angle it is to observe to the right at the end of the road.
Also be careful of the turning immediately on your left. It is the exit from the retail park and again is very busy and other road users may not expect to see you emerging here. Make sure you complete these observations, take it slow and get off on the right foot to help boost confidence.
Don't forget to use the online driving tutorials and other tricky junction pages to help you with passing your driving test at Brislington Test Centre.
